The "Slapshot" Art Show featuring pieces like
this portrait of former Edmonton Oiler Dave
Semenko, was held last night at Hi Fi Club.
Andrew Pommier, Todd Jordan, and BUCK
design group out of Los Angeles were among
some of the featured artists.

Cool show, but the video game part of the
whole thing was a little too much for me.
Average age of gamers is 29 so I guess
this is the right demographic, but I wasn't
feeling that part of the show.

Good job on Mike and Pete's part. They should
do this type of thing more often.

October 19th, 2005

VIDEO PREMIERE!!!

"One Foot Forward" will premiere tonight
at The Ship and Anchor at 10pm.
Source Team Rider Jeff Kent has a full
part in it, which should definitely prove
to be good.

Also, Hi-Fi Club is hosting the "SLAPSHOT
Art Show" tonight. Check out this
website for more details or call Hi-Fi.

Talk to you soon.

October 12, 2005

Check this, it's from Crailtap!

In other news...wait a second, I can't stop laughing.

You'll see what I mean.

October 11th, 2005

Whoa, I'm full! Turkey dinner was
hot and heavy.

I trust everyone had a good
Thanksgiving and that you all
ate a lot of food.

The weather was good, but the park
was still busy. Go figure. Peeps still
like to skate indoors.

New Girl Decks are in! Jereme Rogers
has a thugged out one with a big baller
chain on it. Get it while your pants are still
baggy and being a gangster is still the fresh
thing to do.

Later skaters,

October 3, 2005

New GIRL Decks are in...
One of them just happens to be
a Guy Mariano. It's hype!

We did get a few more copies of
FilmBots, one of this years most
quality flicks. As well, there are
more copies of Baker 3, and Divercity.

Get your DVD sesh on, 'cause it's snowing.

The park was off the chain on
Saturday and for any of you who
know what the winters are like here,
it comes as no surprise.

We're preparing for a busy winter
at the park and we expect record
numbers.

September 29, 2005

It's almost the weekend folks.
One more day until you can
relax, take it easy, and skate.

We just got in some new
Element Trinity bearings, which
seem to be awfully popular.

As well, we got in more copies of
Baker 3. Get gangst with Terry,
or hesh with the Tazmanian Devil
Dustin Dollin.

Birdhouse mini-cruisers are in as
well. It's a full set-up with ultra
fast wheels and banana board shape.

Alright, see you at the park.

September 28, 2005

What's shakin' everyone.
It's supposed to get up to 20 degrees
today. That soundslike a good skate
day to me. Of course, how often are
these weather folk really correct?

Today is a good day at The Source.
Jeff is finishing some re-surfacing
on the hip, and there haven't been
any leaks in the roof in a few days.
Things should be looking good for
the weekend.

Chances are that we'll have some
rain and chilly temperatures this
weekend, so start planning out your
schedules so you can be here at the
park, with us.

Have a good day (one of the last nice
ones of the year), and we'll see
you around.

September 26, 2005

Monday, Monday!
Hello everyone and welcome to the last
week in September. The nights are
getting cold, the days are getting shorter,
and there are more reasons than ever
to come down to The Source Skatepark
and get your shred on.

The weekend was enjoyable here,
however I must apologize for the lack
of service on Saturday, as we were
obviously under-staffed. Terribly sorry
for the line-ups and waits. It won't
happen again.

The Source Team put on a little demo
for Saturday customers and proved
that they are some of the best
skateboarders in Calgary.

This week we don't have anything
huge planned, but it's still good to be
here in case something crazy goes down.

You will probably see some new faces
around the park, as we have been
doing some hiring. Please go easy
on the newbies, as they are just learning.

Take it easy, and have a good monday.

September 24, 2005

What a day! You can't really complain.
Get out there and hit the links, or come
skating here at the park. Today is
$5 skate day. That means you can
skate Canada's largest indoor
skateboard park for $5, for all day.
At 12 noon we have a demo by some
of Calgary's finest skateboarders, our
very own Source skate team. Then @
1:00pm we have a BBQ with hot dogs and
burgers.
If you think you can afford $5, then get
here quick, because it's going to be
busy.
Have a good weekend everyone!

GOOD LUCK Andrea!!!

September 23, 2005

Alright, so it's finally Friday, and
it's absolutely gorgeous outside.
Maybe a little crisp but who's
complaining? It's sunny!!!
Devin is busy skating and
giving some of the Canadian
Circa team a tour of our great
city. Tomorrow is The Source
Team Demo at the park, and
tonight is RDS Skateboard Party
Premiere.
It's one action packed weekend.

I pre-call some mayhem down
at HiFi tonight, some talented
skating tomorrow, and lots of
food for everyone.
In case you didn't hear, it's
$5 skate day ALL DAY tomorrow.
Get here and shred for fractions
less than you'd normally pay.
Have a good weekend everyone,
and good luck with your golf
game tomorrow Andrea.
I hope you kill 'em Tiger!

September 22, 2005

New BAKER 3 video boards are in.

Greco, and more.

coming here for a skate today,
otherwise you may find
yourself "singing in the rain".

Anyhow, e-mail me if you're bored...

paul@sourceboards.com

Later,

P.S. RDS SKateboard Party Video
Premiere is tomorrow night at
9:00pm @ HiFi Club.

Oughton of Calgary, as well

The new Fall 2005 Program brochure
for the park is out. Pick one up at your
local Source location or here.

The Flames have their first pre-season
home game tonight against the
Blackhawks. Sutter and the boys
should take care of business with ease.
Other than that, Saturday Skate Day
($5 ALL DAY) is fast approaching, so
make sure you're here September 24th
for some Source Team Demo and BBQ.
It's gonna be hot!!!

September 20, 2005

Hello everyone,

It looks like another storm has made its way to Calgary, which means indoor skating for ya'll folk.
It's warm here, and dry.
Saturday is fast approaching so make sure you don't have any plans. Source skate team demo @ 12:00 noon, and bbq to follow.
Season passes are still on sale for $299.00 plus tax. That's 20 times to pay it off. I know a lot of kids who have been here 20+ times and still don't have a pass. Stop wasting your money, and get a pass today. You won't be disappointed.
PS This photo is wacky, so look at it.

September 19th, 2005

P-Rod is blowing up the spot these days. Slam, X-Games, you name it. Check out forecastvideo.com to see a killer trailer of his new video.

In Source news, RDS Skateboard Party premiere is Friday at 9pm @ Hi-Fi Club, Saturday is Welcome to Winter Skate Day at the park. The first 100 kids in the door, pay $5 for all day and there's a Source Skate Team Demo at noon, bbq, and lots of giveaways. Be here, because you wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Later.

September 17, 2005

It's the weekend everybody!

It's time to skate and be free. Project Pat, Tony B. and the Bynx Brothers were out skating last night. The park was pretty busy, and considering the frost warning, I guess it should have been.

Same temperatures are expected tonight, so get down here before it crowds up.

Peace.

September 16, 2005

New ZERO decks are in, and it's raining.
Is that news? I don't know. Anyhow, the weather is pretty much getting out of hand. I can see it on everyone's faces when they come and skate. They're frustrated because it's just another rainy day in Calgary. Well so what! Buck up little campers, and come down here and enjoy yourself without the confrontations with security guards, or the run-ins with nutcase land owners who don't want you skating on their property.
It's hassle-free down here and everyone gets along.

In snowboarding news, the video premiere for Burning Bridges (KidsKnow) and The Big Blind (Whiteout Films) went down last night at The Plaza Theatre in Kensington. The Big Blind was super good with solid parts from The Source's own Devun Walsh, Red Deer/Calgary local TJ Schneider, and Tadashi Fuse blowing up the spot.
Burning Bridges showcased the talents of some lesser known riders and the thug himself Marc Frank Montoya.
All in all it was a good premiere, and just the start of snowboard season for
Calgarians.
Have a good weekend everyone, and don't get too out of hand.
Later.

September 15, 2005

RDS SKATEBOARD PARTY VIDEO PREMIERE
Friday, September 23rd @ 9pm
Hi-Fi Club (Cover charge is $5)
Get down early on Friday to watch the raw talent of Paul Machnau, Mike Hastie, Gaelea Momolu, and Calgary's own Ryan Oughton. It should be a good time so mark it on your calendar.

September 14, 2005

NEW PLAN B DECKS ARE IN!
Darrell Stanton, Ryan Gallant, and Danny Way decks with the baseball team graphics. Nice shapes and they're going fast.
We're almost done moving our sale into the retail store here so it's starting to look a little like a snowboard shop.
Don't fret skaters, because we will still provide you with the best deck, truck, wheel, and bearing selection in the city.
If you don't feel that's the case, then e-mail me and let me know what we need: paul@sourceboards.com
Skating here tonight is a must if the thunderstorm they have predicted, actually hits us.
It's warm, it's dry, and it's cheaper than a movie and popcorn at the theatres.
See you tonight.

September 12, 2005

Hi everyone, I hope you're having a good day. The Source park is very quiet right now because everyone is in school, so if you don't have anything going on, get down here and skate!
If you are coming here, please grab me a coffee and I'll pay you back.
More copies of Baker 3 are in here and selling fast.
If you haven't already checked it out, you better. The video is pretty damn good and everyone in it has some unreal footage.
It's a little bit more expensive than your average video, but well worth it.
New Source zip-ups are in, so "get down girl..g'head, get down".
Later.

New Team member?

As you may or may not know, The Source skate team has been undergoing a major face lift. We are very proud to welcome Sean MacAlister to the team. Sean is a seriously talented skateboarder and if you have seen him at the park, you know it's true. Welcome to the team Sean, we are happy to have you !!!

September 10, 2005

The Source skate team is supposed to do a demo in Fort Macleod today. It's a cool little park, Lyle Brown's definitely down for it, but it's looking like a rain-out so far. The same weather system is over Calgary today, so you better get down to the park early and skate.
For all you school age folks, I hope your first week back wasn't too difficult. Considering it was only a 4 day week, there shouldn't be any complaints. Martin bros made an appearance yesterday, along with Marshall, a.k.a. Scum.
Have a good weekend, and buy a new DVD for your collection.

September 9, 2005

Baker 3 DVD is in the house!

Get your tight pants, your bottle of JD, your long-haired homies, and a DVD player and you can have your own premiere at your crib. All the greats on this one, including The Boss himself, Reynolds.

Get down for "hesh" all over again, and re-live your life from 5 months ago, before you went emo.

Peace.

September 8, 2005

Good day everyone!
Some big changes are going down in our retail store, so try to bear with us during the changeover.
We should have in some fresh new Indy's (169mm) very shortly, for all you big board lovers.
And it's supposed to be chilly tonight, so get down here for a warm session and an ice cream bar.
Take it easy, and check www.standalonemedia.ca for current skate reports from the hardcore Calgary locs.
Peace.

September 7, 2005

Kevin Lowry is fully vibes!!!

The "Slapshot" Art Show featuring pieces like
this portrait of former Edmonton Oiler Dave
Semenko, was held last night at Hi Fi Club.
Andrew Pommier, Todd Jordan, and BUCK
design group out of Los Angeles were among
some of the featured artists.

Cool show, but the video game part of the
whole thing was a little too much for me.
Average age of gamers is 29 so I guess
this is the right demographic, but I wasn't
feeling that part of the show.

Good job on Mike and Pete's part. They should
do this type of thing more often.

October 19th, 2005

VIDEO PREMIERE!!!

"One Foot Forward" will premiere tonight
at The Ship and Anchor at 10pm.

You'll see what I mean.

October 11th, 2005

Whoa, I'm full! Turkey dinner was
hot and heavy.

I trust everyone had a good
Thanksgiving and that you all
ate a lot of food.

The weather was good, but the park
was still busy. Go figure. Peeps still
like to skate indoors.

New Girl Decks are in! Jereme Rogers
has a thugged out one with a big baller
chain on it. Get it while your pants are still
baggy and being a gangster is still the fresh
thing to do.

Later skaters,

October 3, 2005

New GIRL Decks are in...
One of them just happens to be
a Guy Mariano. It's hype!

We did get a few more copies of
FilmBots, one of this years most
quality flicks. As well, there are
more copies of Baker 3, and Divercity.

Get your DVD sesh on, 'cause it's snowing.

The park was off the chain on
Saturday and for any of you who
know what the winters are like here,
it comes as no surprise.

We're preparing for a busy winter
at the park and we expect record
numbers.

September 29, 2005

It's almost the weekend folks.
One more day until you can
relax, take it easy, and skate.

We just got in some new
Element Trinity bearings, which
seem to be awfully popular.

As well, we got in more copies of
Baker 3. Get gangst with Terry,
or hesh with the Tazmanian Devil
Dustin Dollin.

Birdhouse mini-cruisers are in as
well. It's a full set-up with ultra
fast wheels and banana board shape.

Alright, see you at the park.

September 28, 2005

What's shakin' everyone.
It's supposed to get up to 20 degrees
today. That soundslike a good skate
day to me. Of course, how often are
these weather folk really correct?

Today is a good day at The Source.
Jeff is finishing some re-surfacing
on the hip, and there haven't been
any leaks in the roof in a few days.
Things should be looking good for
the weekend.

Chances are that we'll have some
rain and chilly temperatures this
weekend, so start planning out your
schedules so you can be here at the
park, with us.

Have a good day (one of the last nice
ones of the year), and we'll see
you around.

September 26, 2005

Monday, Monday!
Hello everyone and welcome to the last
week in September. The nights are
getting cold, the days are getting shorter,
and there are more reasons than ever
to come down to The Source Skatepark
and get your shred on.

The weekend was enjoyable here,
however I must apologize for the lack
of service on Saturday, as we were
obviously under-staffed. Terribly sorry
for the line-ups and waits. It won't
happen again.

The Source Team put on a little demo
for Saturday customers and proved
that they are some of the best
skateboarders in Calgary.

This week we don't have anything
huge planned, but it's still good to be
here in case something crazy goes down.

You will probably see some new faces
around the park, as we have been
doing some hiring. Please go easy
on the newbies, as they are just learning.

Take it easy, and have a good monday.

September 24, 2005

What a day! You can't really complain.
Get out there and hit the links, or come
skating here at the park. Today is
$5 skate day. That means you can
skate Canada's largest indoor
skateboard park for $5, for all day.
At 12 noon we have a demo by some
of Calgary's finest skateboarders, our
very own Source skate team. Then @
1:00pm we have a BBQ with hot dogs and
burgers.
If you think you can afford $5, then get
here quick, because it's going to be
busy.
Have a good weekend everyone!

GOOD LUCK Andrea!!!

September 23, 2005

Alright, so it's finally Friday, and
it's absolutely gorgeous outside.
Maybe a little crisp but who's
complaining? It's sunny!!!
Devin is busy skating and
giving some of the Canadian
Circa team a tour of our great
city. Tomorrow is The Source
Team Demo at the park, and
tonight is RDS Skateboard Party
Premiere.
It's one action packed weekend.

I pre-call some mayhem down
at HiFi tonight, some talented
skating tomorrow, and lots of
food for everyone.
In case you didn't hear, it's
$5 skate day ALL DAY tomorrow.
Get here and shred for fractions
less than you'd normally pay.
Have a good weekend everyone,
and good luck with your golf
game tomorrow Andrea.
I hope you kill 'em Tiger!

September 22, 2005
