On Sauturday, The Source Skate Team met on the battlefield of Shaw Millennium Park to defend the title of Best Skate Shop Team in Alberta. The sun was hot, the skating was sick, and once again our boys emerged victorius! Congratulations guys!

MOTORCADE VIDEO/SLIDESHOW THURSDAY

The one and only screening of MOTORCADE will go down next Thursday,
July 26 at The Uptown Theatre. No cover. Yes popcorn. And skateboarding.

Also on Thursday, July 26, Red Bull is inviting 14 of the regions best
skaters and special guests to session the streets of Calgary like
royalty instead of criminals, in a presidential style motorcade. The
sessions will be captured on photo and film and premiered later that
night. Best trick format with regional shreds and special guests Ryan
Decenzo and Willy Marshall going head to head.

SOURCE RIDER DEVIN MORRISON WINS DC NATIONALS REGIONAL COMPETITION

The Zero Gravity Skateboard Park in Cochrane, Alberta, was host to the DC Nationals Regional Skateboard Competition on Saturday, July 21. Competitors had already won their local qualifiers held earlier this summer. The top 5 skaters would go on to the National competition on August 25, in Montreal, Quebec.



Source rider, Devin Morrison, took First Place and won his trip to represent Alberta in the DC Nationals Final Competition. Congratulations Devin!

The top 5 skateboarders from the Regional qualifiers will earn their spot in The DC National Championship on Saturday August 25th, 2007 at South Parc in Montreal, QC. Here Canada's top amateur skateboarders will compete to determine the National Champion in their class and grab a piece of the 10K CDN cash up for grabs.

4 DUDES SKATE ACROSS CANADA

Rob Lewis, Aaron Jackson, Carlos Koppen and Benjamin Jordan were chosen as the Calgary Stampede's 2007 Parade Marshals due to their insane longboard trek across Canada last summer. Their Push for the Cure campaign took them on a 5 month journey from Halifax to Vancouver. Not only did they raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, they continue to encourage all Canadians to get involved in anyway they can - large or small!

GO SKATEBOARDING DAY JUNE 21

This Thursday, June 21, skateboarders around the globe will celebrate the pure exhilaration, creativity, and spirit of one of the most influential activities in the world by blowing off all other obligations to go skateboarding!



The Calgary Go Skateboarding Day event kicks off Thursday at Noon at City Hall!

C1RCA/SOURCE PING PONG CHALLENGE

Last Wednesday, June 13, the basement of our Kensington store became host to the first Annual C1RCA/Source Staff Ping Pong Challenge.

Fierce competition came from all around the city, looking to claim the most prized trophy of ping pong, the GOLDEN LADY.



Fueled by Kokanee and Indian Short Ribs courtesy of the Source and C1RCA, the participants met on the ping pong battlefield playing through an excruciating round robin of ping pong mayhem.















The intensity of the competition reached critical levels, with fierce competitors like LT SMASH, SCRAP DOG & MATT (PONY BOY) RAINE taking no prisoners on their way to ping pong victory.









In the end, it was the smooth style and masterful ping pong prowess of Devin Morrison that claimed first place and the coveted GOLDEN LADY.





Second place was claimed by Matt 'Pony Boy' Raine.


Third place went to newcomer and rookie Brendan.
